We are delighted to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Savino Del Bene India, an important milestone in the company’s history.
The festivities took place on the 22nd of July in the vibrant Goa, where esteemed guests, including Sergio Bazzurro, Senior Vice President of Savino Del Bene S.p.A., and Gianfranco Di Bonaventura, Managing Director of Savino Del Bene India, joined the gala ceremony alongside other managers and market leaders.
Our story began in 1998 when Savino Del Bene India initiated its first operations with the opening of our office in Mumbai. The first six years were filled with challenges that we overcame to achieve success. This was followed by the establishment of 5 additional branches located across the country. During this time the market in India was just opening to foreign investors, and we navigated through an environment of evolving rules, regulations, and infrastructure limitations.
Despite these hurdles, Savino Del Bene remained committed and dedicated their efforts to support companies venturing into the market in India. This specialized approach became our strength, and we successfully aided well known established companies.
As this journey continued, we gained recognition for our expertise in exporting granite slabs to the USA. Within a few years, the entire market in India became aware of the Savino Del Bene, and we handled up to an impressive 3500 TEUs per month of this commodity.
With the wind energy sector booming in the early 2000s, Savino Del Bene India seized the opportunity. We created specialized teams in the southern region capable of organizing and loading charter vessels with wind blades and nacelles. This venture marked yet another successful chapter in our growth story.
In the year 2010, the company embarked on a second phase of expansion, further strengthening its position in the market through business diversification. We invested in the Pharmaceutical Market and Project Cargo, which enabled us to deliver tailor-made solutions to our customers with exceptional success. It was during this period that we expanded our footprint by opening five more branches, demonstrating our dedication to this important marketplace.
One of our proudest achievements is our unique recognition in this market for being a flexible, lean, and fast problem-solving organization.
